Special K Chocolatey Delight Pastry Crisps are found around the general area where Pop-Tarts are in most grocery stores. They are not, however, a Pop-Tart “knock-off.” The packaging makes them appear similar.
These pastries do come two to a package (there are foil packages within, and in that respect, are like Pop-Tarts). However, each package of two consists of only 100 calories, which could make these a good choice for those who enjoy the 100-carloie snack packages. They do not, however, taste “lacking” just because they only have 100 calories. Each pastry is smaller than you might expect while just looking at the packaging, perhaps because they are shown fairly close-up. However, two of these are quite good for a nice treat.
A Low-Calorie, Chocolatey Breakfast
Chocolatey Delight Pastry Crisps are not too heavy and not too light—just a nice consistency if you want a fairly light chocolatey breakfast. There’s chocolate icing on the outside and a nice chocolate filling in the middle. The chocolate filling is neither too much so that it oozes out, but it’s not too little, either, so that you would regret the purchase and wish you had opted for something more chocolatey. The filling is not gooey and is a nice consistency.
One thing interesting to note is that the packaging states you should not put these pastries in the toaster or microwave. These are great at room temps, but at the same time, pastries like this always seem better warmed up. If you absolutely must warm your pastries, these may not be for you, but if you just like pastries with chocolate in general, these may be a good choice for a nice chocolatey breakfast that’s low in calories.
