Non-Dairy Hazelnut Hot Chocolate (Easy Recipe)

Non-Dairy Hazelnut Hot Cocoa

Hazelnut hot chocolate is becoming more and more popular these days. Luckily, it’s not hard to make a completely non-dairy version. All you need is a few ingredients:

♥ Non-Dairy Milk of Your Choice (we used rice milk)

♥ Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

♥ Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter (or another non-dairy chocolate hazelnut butter)

Start by heating up a cup of non-dairy milk just like you would for any hot chocolate. For a full, regular-sized mug, add 1 teaspoon of the cocoa powder. Then add 2 generous teaspoons of the hazelnut butter. Mix well for hazelnut and chocolatey goodness.

Sound simple? It is! The toughest part is actually finding the Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut butter, as it’s not sold everywhere. We have seen it sold at Target, Ralph’s (previously, though it may still be available there) and Sprout’s. You may be able to find it in little packets as well as in jars. It has a stronger nutty taste than chocolate, but this concoction still has a strong chocolate flavor.

And of course, if it’s not sweet enough for you, you can always add sugar!

This hot cocoa is perfect for anyone wanting to stay away from dairy or anyone for lactose intolerance; if you don’t use Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter, just make sure to check the ingredients to make sure that the choco hazelnut butter you end up using is non-dairy—not all of them are.
