* Makes tons of food items into chocolate foods
* Reminiscent of melted chocolate
Hershey’s Chocolate Spread is a relatively new item that can be found near the peanut butter. It comes in a few different varieties, including regular chocolate, chocolate with hazelnut and chocolate with almonds. The variety we tried was the regular chocolate.
These spreads can be used on whatever you like—if you’re creative, you could probably turn a lot of regularly non-chocolate foods into something chocolatey. The Hershey’s website even shows celery as a potential bearer of chocolate spread, though this seems a bit odd. (If anyone has tried this, feel free to comment below.) We tried it on Eggo’s Chocolate Wafflers, which turned out to be a great combination!
Like Melted Chocolate?
The regular chocolate flavor is not surprisingly a lot like melted Hershey’s but straight out of a jar. If you like melted chocolate, chances are you will love these spreads. They also seem to cause you to want more chocolate even more so than usual (you have been warned).
Speaking of melting chocolate, sadly the jar says “do not microwave.” It’s unclear if this means while the chocolate spread is still in the jar or the spread itself when taken out. Either way, if you were planning to melt the spread inside the jar to have a pot of dipping chocolate, that is apparently something you are not supposed to do.
