It may look from the photo that the Trader Joe’s Milk & Dark Chocolate Butterscotch Bits Bar is similar to Toblerone — and in a way, it definitely is.
This chocolate is built of little squares, while Toblerone is made up of small pyramids all put together in its bar. They both also have little butterscotch-type bits in them. The main difference is that the Trader Joe’s bar is a combo of both milk and dark chocolate, almost like a large swirl of the two poured into the mold together.
The other differences are the size of the butterscotch pieces; in Toblerone, they’re definitely larger. To some, the TJ version will also seem a bit more firm (if you like firmer chocolate, this may be your preference).
Either way, if you like Toblerone, you may want to try the Trader Joe’s equivalent — dark chocolate lovers may appreciate the darker chocolate woven in.
